Samsung introduced the Galaxy Chromebook 2 a few weeks ago showcasing the first-ever QLED display on a Chromebook.

Same Design New Specs:

Chromebooks have always had a reputation as being great for basic tasks like web browsing and media consumption. The first Galaxy Chromebook brought a premiere Google experience with specs that were above and beyond most of the vanilla Chromebooks on the market today. The design of the Galaxy Chromebook was minimal and modern with sturdy CNC-cut aluminum chassis and carefully crafted in every aspect of its design. The laptop was only 9.9mm and weighed only 2.2 pounds. One of the features that stood out was the gorgeous 4K display with touch support. Its greatest downfall was subpar battery life that left it connected to a charger most of the day.

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 builds on what we loved about the first edition and tries to improve on that lackluster battery life. The 4K display was switched out for a bright and vivid but lower resolution QLED FHD display. Another change to get more screen on time is the new processor options. The powerful Intel Core i5 has been replaced by less power-hungry Intel Core™ i3 or Intel Celeron options. Pair either of these with the QLED display and on paper battery life should be increased by a few hours.

Other improvements include Smart AMP to boost audio and wirelessly updated to Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+). Your color choices are still Mercury Gray and Fiesta Red. A Notable change on the Galaxy Chromebook 2 is the lack of an S-Pen. You still get support for all the S-Pen functions but the pen is sold separately and not housed in the chassis. This seems to be a trend with Samsung, as they did the same with the Galaxy S21 series.
